As someone who agonizes about air travel everytime I step onto a plane, I feel that carbon offsets are a stop-gap measure. Ultimately we will have to promote slower forms of travel (or dig tunnels under the earth!). I know speed is intimately tied to our current economic systems but it might be a good idea to slow the system down in every sense of the term “slow.”
